I woke up today for the first time in awhile just wanting to sleep. I was tired. So I crawled off my bed to my knees and prayer for God to push me through and seek him for the day. Going through Breakfast the sisters asked if I was tired with all the travels and I explained that I started the day off tired but I was going to become energized soon! I went to the chapel to sweep and mop the entire thing before I headed to the outskirts of the city. As I was sweeping I was playing newsboys, Jon Foreman, Bebo Norman, and Shawn McDonald. Just cruising to the music. I finished in a peaceful and joyful state and left for the farmlands and outskirts. This time I decided to run which it is about 15km away and as I got out there the dust was incredibly bad I took out a second shirt I had in the bag to cover my mouth as I was eating dust. Every step I was taking my feet were dropping my shoe height into the soil. Finally I reached the farm lands and it was beautiful and povern. Again how can things be this beautiful and this povern? As I was walking I went out to a man in the fields and asked to help him as he was finishing his irrigation lines in the field. I realize growing up on a farm gives me almost no knowledge of the farms here. He was laughing as I tried to work the field with him. He was so happy. I felt like I was a celebrity. After awhile of talking and me struggling he asked for a picture and I took one of him. He had lived out there since he was a boy and he find it peaceful he said no fast paced life. After I continued down the road and saw a woman no younger than maybe 60 pushing a wheel barrel. I didn’t even realize what was in it even now as I talk to you. I ran to her and grabbed it for her and walked her home. She spoke faster than anyone I have ever met. It was like an actioner! I think I responded with From Oklahoma in United States guessing that’s what she asked. Then I’m a missionary helping people here in Peru. She talked for almost 15 min as we walked. Finally we arrived at her house and I wished her well. Before I could leave she made me take some bananas for helping her. Finally I arrived at the tallest Hill/ Mountain thing over looking the city and climbed it! I got to the top and took pictures then sat in prayer for about an hour. After I climbed down to another pyramid that I saw from the top. It was only found two years ago and there are at least 5 more there but still under rock. I was beautiful with the hills surrounding it. Finally I walked back to the community. It was a very slow day for me but was a much needed relaxing day.
